Minifigure holiday card fun from LEGO :)

My family loves all things LEGO (watch for a post – probably in January – about Johnny’s LEGO-themed sixth birthday party), so I couldn’t resist the offer of a sponsored post featuring these fun LEGO Minifigure Family holiday cards! Four-year-old Lily designed this card representing our family! It was really interesting to see her picking looks for everyone. At first she gave me a shorter haircut that looks more the way my hair currently is (chin length and layered), but then she switched that out for a more stereotypical look. She insisted on Mike wearing glasses (even though he often takes them off for photos), and was extremely particular about baby Anna’s very short (baby hair grows SLOW in my family) hairdo. She and Emma got the same glamorous hair that I got! The tops she picked were even more entertaining, although I have to say she didn’t have a ton of variety to pick from. She was extremely pleased with the final product, and that’s what matters! I think she was a little disappointed with the kids only have three colors of pants to choose from – grown-ups had a much wider range and I’m not sure why LEGO decided to limit the kids’ to only three colors. She opted out of the Yeti LEGO adds in for you at the end!

Our “real” holiday cards arrived in the mail yesterday, and so now I have the job of addressing and sending them all off! Do you send holiday cards? It’s a tradition I really love, particularly with family and friends spread all over the globe. We have a wall covered in them every year, and it is so fun to see friends and family member faces! It’s also a great way for kids to learn about people who are important to Mike and I but who the kids haven’t had a chance to meet!

  1. Thank you MaryAnne – I would love to see your Christmas card but no worries if you don’t have a PDF – I already know you got some great photos!!

  2. How funny! MY girla are all about LEGO Friends at the moment, so you can figure out what’ll be under the Christmas tree for them. :) We just bought our tree this afternoon, basically from just around the corner – they grow their own trees in the area. I love it local.

  3. So cute! Did Lilly also pick the expression on Johnny’s face? I love Christmas cards but when people do make the effort to send them to us they mostly arrive in the New Year – it’s still great to see all the photos. I used to have print cards made and then mail my mom a set of address labels so she could put them in the mail for me from the States. Last year I switched to e-cards and, while not the same as print cards, they have made getting a holiday greeting out to all our friends and family so much easier.

    1. Yep – she picked all the faces! Your Smilebox card is so cute! I need to find a way to get you our card! I may have a PDF of it, somewhere…

  4. It cracks me up that Lily made herself a twin with Emma. She does look a lot like Emma looked when she was her age. We are also sending out Christmas cards this weekend (at least I hope so) – still need to write about 30 of them!

  5. I love this!!!! Just played around with it for a second and am going to set Bear loose on it tomorrow to create a Lego family portrait of us! So glad that you shared this! Super-psyched!

  6. How fun! Lily did a great job. :) And it’s so great you have a wall covered in friends and families from around the world!

  7. Yes and I loved it!!! So much fun and mine didn’t like the pants choices for kids either! I actually made ours a while ago and saved it somewhere to post to family closer to the season. Thanks for the reminder. Now to go find where I saved it.

    1. Why can’t the kids have the same color options for pants as the grown-ups? I don’t get it – especially since in real life kids are WAY more likely to wear colorful pants!
