I was attempting to mow the lawn when I ran over Johnny’s baseball (you know your grass is much too long when it easily hides a white baseball!) It amazingly did not break our lawn mower, and we got to learn about how baseballs are made. Johnny also had a good reinforcement lesson on the importance of putting away his toys…

Well, even though it was tragic, sounds like some really great lessons were learned!

You really can use anything in life as a lesson can’t you?? Hope Johnny wasn’t too upset about the loss of his ball!

Oh what a good lesson to get. I discovered a metal flash toy one time. It did about as well with the lawn mower.

@Amber – he was pretty upset at first, particularly since he saw it get destroyed, but he’s forgotten now – and we do plan to get him another one!
The sad thing was, he wanted me to fix it, and I couldn’t.

I think Mike should take over lawnmowing from now on :)

Definitely not the most fun way to learn a lesson, but probably pretty effective:-). I’ve never seen the inside of a baseball either until you posted this picture.

Reminds me of the time my brother hit an old one we had and it broke apart… sad to lose the ball, but so cool to see the inside!!!
