My art-loving children started drawing together this week, and it’s been a lot of fun to watch them collaborate! For whatever reason, they find the partially-used pages of my 2011 planner incredibly inspiring. I enjoy listening to them brainstorm what to draw, and hearing them describe their illustrations to one another!
Learning Laboratory is all about fun, creative, hands-on learning! Here are a few posts I enjoyed last week!
- Paper patchwork summer wall display from Sunnydaytodaymama
- Textured spin paintings from Here Come the Girls
- Exploring Flowers from The Golden Gleam
- Toddler Art Exploration – Mondrian from Rainy Day Mum
- Sensory Pools for Summer from Growing a Jeweled Rose
I hope you’ll share your favorite learning posts! Text links back or sharing my button is always appreciated, so that others can learn about this series!

Princess gets inspired by half used books too. It makes me happy because then our half used stuff gets used up.

That is precious – I love that you not only have captured it on camera but also will be able to take their first collaborative effort and keep forever as well LD.
J yesterday did his first ever picture in school (we went to look around one for September 2013!) I’ve got it and added to his memory box

Cute pictures! My kids love to draw or scribble on our wall calendar. Maybe it’s because they see mommy/daddy writing there and they want to copy?

That makes sense! I had wondered why my kids loved that planner so much…

My kids love drawing together too. Sometimes when the younger one doesn’t feel confident with her abilities to draw a part of her picture her older sister will do that part and they are both happy with the results.

I love this!
My kids draw together all the time… on ANYTHING. I particularly love it when the older kids teach the younger kids to draw something new. They even include their baby sister (1 1/2 year old). They always make sure she has crayons and paper and they don’t even get upset when she colors on their drawing. I love it!

That is awesome that they don’t get upset over their baby sister coloring on their drawings!

Johnny and Lily spent three hours together yesterday, drawing, taping, and cutting while Emma was at kindergarten. It doesn’t usually last THAT long, but it sure was fun to watch!

That’s so sweet! I love when my boys play well together, but, you’re right: doesn’t usually last that long!
