Music is an important part of daily life in our house, so I was happy to accept Team Mom’s offer for me to review some Music Together products. We were sent one of their mini-rainmakers (pictured in motion, above), as well as their Family Favorites, Family Favorites 2, and Lullabies CDs. We enjoyed all three CDs. They each feature a range of songs from around the world, with nice arrangements. I also enjoyed reading their Music Together Experts Blog, which is full of articles about music in childhood.
What role does music play in your home? Here are a few of my favorite ideas for using music with toddlers, and my kids still love our fancy egg shakers!
There were so many fantastic links last week, I had a hard time picking favorites to feature! Relentlessly Fun, Deceptively Educational’s post about studying weather across the US has me planning a similar activity for my kids. I love the adventure theme in these letter treasure maps from Reading Confetti, and I adored this Gruffalo outdoor play trail at Sun Hats & Wellie Boots. If you’ve never read The Gruffalo, be sure to check it out! AND I got to learn about weirs through this lovely, visual post from at home with Ali.
What fun and creative learning is going on in your house? Grab a button and link up – text link backs are fine, too!

I love music makers. I’ll have to check into that.

Music is a huge part of our lives! My husband is musically inclined, I worked in the music business, our children can learn anything as long as we put it to music. It was especially instrumental when our children were diagnosed with ASD…

She looks so happy. What a great action shot. :-)
I love the mini rainmaker. We do a lot of spontaneous parades over here, so these would be great to play while we march!

We love music around here. Usually it’s in the form of dancing around like crazy people to a song I’ve youtubed.

J came home with a “noise maker” shaker from school during “N week”. It was made from half of a toilet paper tube filled with rice and colorful painters’ tape sealing the edges shut. He then was able to color and decorate the tube for his own unique instrument.

I really feel we should do more with music. I am not very musical, and we don’t even have music in the background often enough. Anna does enjoy her Melissa and Doug “Band in the Box”, especially during playdates.
