Kid Quotes: Fiction

kid quotes

This is what all too many of my attempts at photographing five-year-old Johnny look like, lately. He tells me this is his “bad guy face”. It reminds me more of Calvin and Hobbes. :)

On to kid quotes! Lily said something really funny, and I wish I could remember what. Maybe that will show up in the next edition!

Emma (6 years old) listening to Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes: This has GOT to be fiction!

January 21st:
Dad: Kids need to clean up their room.
Emma (looking completely serious): Dad, why do you always say that! You aren’t supposed to clean up your room on CHRISTMAS!!!

Talking to the kids:
Me: What do you want to be when you grow up?
Johnny (5 years old): I want to not be anything. Like how you grew up and you aren’t anything.

Eating Girl Scout Cookies:
Johnny (5 years old): Can you plant thin mints? And grow a tree?

  1. Johnny’s photo makes me smile! Michael’s starting to do the same sort of thing. I should do an outtakes post of his birthday photo shoot. :)

  2. Oh yes! I <3 the picture of Johnny. I negotiate with J. We can take some silly pics, but we need to take some nice pics too. It honestly took us an hour to do Christmas photos this year. And we LOVE Pete the Cat! It came with the download, but J memorized the whole thing. It's so cute. Your post also reminds me that I need to find a Girl Scout selling cookies.

    1. Silly boys…

This was the first year we didn’t get a Christmas photo that I especially liked – we did get one that “worked”, but it wasn’t ideal. Hopefully we’ll have better luck next year!

  3. Please let me know when you get that Thin Mint tree…I will be buying them by the bushel!
I love that you record the cute things your kids say!

  4. I love your kids quotes – I think Johnny’s are my favorite this time around and I love that photo! You must be so thrilled that you “aren’t anything – at least if his plan works out you can eat an awful lot of thin mints.

  5. Varya @ littleartists

Hilarious! I always vouch to write down all quotes from Tessa but there are just way too many! Some of them we got on recording and it is too funny to listen to them over and over again!

  6. Hilarious! My daughter told me the other way, “Why do you say you don’t want to go to work on Monday – you were working all weekend anyway?”

  7. Haha! Kids are too cute!

Although he needs to learn that his Mama is EVERYTHING!

I am loving that picture of your little squish! It’s so vibrant. What kind of camera do you have?
