I’m going to Miss This Tree

I’m going to miss this Japanese Maple tree. It is so beautiful all year round, and it has been such a source of joy in my life during the years we have lived in this house. I never knew a tree could be so beautiful – in shadow…

Or sunlight.

I don’t remember it ever having seeds like this – this many or so long. They have added another dimension of beauty – and I am enjoying capturing memories on film.

  1. It’s such a beautiful tree. I would miss it, too! I don’t I’ve lived in a place long enough to get attached to anything.

    1. This was the first time I lived in one place long enough since my family moved for the first time when I was six years old.

  2. So beautiful. Great pictures! There are a lot of those on my street. I like the seeds. We used to put those on our noses when we were kids.

  3. That tree is stunning and definitely worth missing – there is a beautiful sterculia tree behind our house that I will really miss but mostly I’m going to miss the elephants. There are a few herds that come by regularly and that we feel we’ve gotten to know – some we’ve even given nicknames. Things are being finalized this week but it looks like we are moving to Zambia to an area where the wildlife is depleted. It will be great for the girls because they’ll have lots of outdoor space to play in but we’ll miss being surrounded by wildlife.

  4. I love Japanese Maple trees too! So beautiful no matter what the season. Well … I will take photos of mine to post for you! You will have those wonderful Sequoias to look forward too! And I’m sure a host of other beautiful trees like my favorite, the Jacarinda. Looking forward to seeing the new trees you fall in love with!

Lovely! I’ll miss your tree (via photos), too!! Even the seeds are beautiful.

You could print some of your pictures of the tree on canvas to decorate your new home. :)

  6. You can have a Japanese Maple here too :) But I love our rose bush that starts flowering early in spring and gives beautiful flowers all summer long.
