Six-year-old Emma deemed this gift her “best present ever”, and I think deservedly so! She spent several hours making it for her friend A’s sixth birthday, and I think it turned out beautifully! It all comes in its own little shoebox house, complete with pillow, blanket (adorned with a star), dog leash, dog clothes, and leash.
Emma planned everything out and stitched it up all on her own. I cut out the pieces for the dog and the star for the blanket; she cut out everything else.
The little dog got two outfits, in green and blue. Because A is a boy, and – according to Emma – those are colors boys like (also known as colors Johnny likes).
She decorated the box and wrote A’s name on the front (edited out).
A really liked the gift, and Emma was thrilled with his reaction. She also had a BLAST at his party! She came home and said, “I played with BOYS! I played with the boys in my class for the first time EVER!”

This is the “best present ever”! I know what I want for my birthday!

The funniest thing about that comment was that she plays with A all the time – just not at school, maybe?
