Celebrating Spring!!!

willow tree in early spring

We are enjoying stunning Spring weather in Massachusetts this week! I was afraid this old willow tree wouldn’t spring back after losing yet another large branch in our Snowtober storm. But leaves are budding, so we get to enjoy it another year, scars and all! I am always amazed at nature’s resilience. Every summer our grass turns brown (no sprinklers plus water restrictions), then every fall as the rain starts up it turns green again. Each winter it turns brown again in the cold, but spring comes and fresh green blades of grass pop up!

baby feet in grass

There’s something thrilling in baby feet on soft spring grass – miraculously healing band-aids and all! She shut the sliding door on her own toe, and if my toe were bruised like that I wouldn’t feel healed by a band-aid! I am so glad it worked for her!

It’s time to celebrate life, complete with gorgeous, naturally-lit photos that capture so much personality! Here she was imitating the way I was standing to capture the photo!

  1. Aww she is so sweet! Gorgeous photos and a lovely celebration of the first day of spring. Hope you’ll add this to the Spring Carnival linky! :)

  2. Love those little toes on grass! We may have nice warm winter weather here, but our grass is prickly on those little toes. Glad you are enjoying the spring weather!

    1. People say that a lot in real life. I think our expressions and eyes are especially similar.

    1. Thanks – I think so :)

I know, I was sad about her toe – and glad it doesn’t seem to bother her much!

Lily is cracking me up with her cute imitation of mama taking photos. :) And seeing toddler feet on baby grass along with the blue sky and budding tree – I can pretend autumn in Perth is really Spring, right?? :)
