Happy New Year! Today I’m teaming up with a bunch of other kid bloggers to share our best activity posts of 2012!
2012 was a great year for my family, and for this blog. I had a hard time picking my favorite, which is part of why on Saturday I shared my twelve most popular posts of 2012. The post I’m sharing today didn’t make that list.
I started this blog four years ago to explain – to myself, really – why motherhood is important. Worth the sleepless nights and grumpy days. My blog focuses almost exclusively on the positive moments in parenting, but Parenting Beyond Kairos is about living every single moment of parenting. It’s my pick for the very best activity of 2012, because, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you do with your kids – all they need is for you to be present in their lives, especially when times get tough. And some of those incredibly tough moments will go on to become treasured memories.

Happy New Year … enjoying every moment of motherhood is such a great aspiration and really a mental attitude more than anything. Thank you for sharing the story of you and your sister, then and now. Such a lovely story about the ties that bind and a great reminder to slow down and savor it all. And breathe!
