Rainy Day Play

2010_10_27_1271

Ironically, I didn’t even think to visit a children’s museum the one rainy day we spent in Cape Cod. That’s usually one of my first thoughts on a rainy day, so I’m not sure where my brain was! Luckily the kids were pretty happy staying inside the hotel. My favorite of their invented activities? This dinosaur-and-seashell wash station. They spent about an hour washing and drying each dinosaur and sea shell, using one small cup of water! There was some sort of plot going, too, which I’m sure helped to extend the activity!

  1. A small bowl of water works wonders. It would have been entertaining to hear what story they made up to go along with this activity.

Your halloween photo made me smile. Such a special photo and very cute.

The giant geo boards at the museum are very impressive. They have inspired me to make some for Savvy and Blakie for Christmas. I think I will cut different coloured pieces (and different lengths) of wool to wrap around the pins in the board.

  2. I always love seeing pictures of your 3 kids playing together. They seem like such buddies. Their activity is cute:-).

Joe and Hanna play like this, and Joe and Hanna very patiently play with Jack. Of course all 3 kids adore Jesse–he’s so irresistible:-). I can see Joe and Jack bonding more each day and I am loving it and can’t wait–well, yes, I can because I don’t want to rush time any more quickly than it already passes–but, I look forward to seeing my 3 boys play together like this one day.

I love Natalie’s comment! I’m with her on needing a full grown sister for Hanna:-).
